With the eyes set on the Tagus River, we find The Taylor’s Port Lisbon. The ideal place to taste Porto wine or even have a delicious meal.

Taylor's was founded in the late 17th century, in 1692, by an Englishman named Job Bearsley. Initially it had nothing to do with Porto wine. That's something that comes up later. Traveling to different families, the Fladgate, the Whitman, until today. Since the beginning the company responsible for the creation of two styles of port wine. The Chip Dry, an extra dry white created in 1934, and the Late Bottled Vintage, in 1970.

Ricardo Raimundo, food and beverage supervisor of Taylor's in Lisbon, explain that the creation the store in Lisbon “comes after the conclusion that not all tourists who visit Portugal go to the city of Porto.” So, for those who only came to Lisbon, can get something that is so typically Portuguese. And it was from this perspective that Taylor's opened the lisbon store and tasting room in May 2019.

In the tasting, there can be found not only the more traditional, but also wines that are usually not available by glass. With two different modalities: in the first a set of four calices of port wine – a extra dry, a chip dry, a late bottled vintage and a Tawny - that allow the customer to get a deeper knowledge about port wine; or the customers can assemble their own choice, choosing their preferences à la carte. Can be supplemented with a cheese or sausage board, pastel de nata, almond, olives, chocolate truffles or another kind of snack. Showing “the great valence of port wine”. Besides that, the visitors can find Port wine for sale, some Taylor’s Port merch and souvenirs.
