In a hidden corner of Lisbon, the space has four rooms, all with a very particular decoration that has been there since day one.

In Principe Real, behind a small cozy door, we can find the world in collection. A hidden corner of Lisbon, the space has four rooms, all with a very particular decoration that has been there since day one. The big cabinets were already there before: Pavilhão Chinês was a grocery store since 1901, used to sell coffee, tea and spices. Carlos Teixeira has been working there in the last 30 years and is the managing partner of Pavilhão Chinês. And was the one who served us the information.

The bar opened in february eightith 1986 and thenceforth, not a single figure has been moved. Almost like has been time frozned. On the walls we can see a collection that belongs to the owner of the space. The order is aleatory, but to the uninformed eyes everything looks incredibly thought. tIn Carlos' words, “a museum that serves drinks”.

In the menu, the classic cocktails, made in the old way, prevail. About food, used to only have toasts, sandwichs and snacks, but after the beginning of the pandemic they started to serve pork shank, fried cuttlefish and hamburgers.

A hotspot presented in the media worldwide, Carlos highlighted the reference of the coffee magazine La Crème: “We were considered the most beautiful bar in Europe, and third of the world”. The perfect place to the ones who want a calm night in a unique place.
